The Histology Technologist II processes surgical, diagnostic tissue, and body fluid specimens with precision, ensuring specimen quality and integrity. Responsibilities include accessioning, embedding, microtomy, special staining, immunohistochemistry, cytology processing, and assisting with fine needle aspiration collection. This role supports hospital departments and physician offices in delivering accurate diagnostic samples for patient care.
Position Summary
Receives and accurately processes surgical, diagnostic tissue, and body fluid specimens from various hospital departments and physician offices. Surgical specimen processing includes, but is not limited to accessioning, processing, embedding, microtomy, special stains, IHC, cytology processing, and assisting with FNA collection. The Histotechnologists ensure the quality and integrity of specimens throughout the entire processing.
