Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (52402) – Iowa healthcare jobs
• Setting: Nursing Float – Med/Surg & Stepdown Units
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: March 9, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week, 36 hours/week
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend & holiday rotation required
• On-Call: None
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC EMR
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880–$2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license – Registered Nurse jobs in Iowa
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (3+ years preferred; first-time travelers welcome with 3 years of experience)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Ability to float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units
• Experience administering and titrating nitro, heparin, amiodarone
• Background in caring for med/surg, neurology, and oncology patients
• Submission of work history/resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, certifications, and references

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
• Float between Med/Surg and Stepdown units as needed
• Administer medications and manage infusions, including nitro, heparin, and amiodarone
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document care using EPIC EMR
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
