Job Description
Join Amazon Web Services as a Network & Cable Decommissioning Manager, where you'll lead a team to safely remove unused network assets from data centers. Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers and managers to develop innovative solutions that enhance AWS infrastructure and optimize operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead team to safely decommission network racks and abandoned fiber cables
Drive planning, design, implementation, and day-to-day operations
Interact with networking engineers and managers to meet product goals
Gather customer feedback to iterate on solutions
Stay updated with AWS services and ensure solutions leverage best practices
Champion projects resulting in cost savings and efficiencies
Participate in recruiting efforts and train others
Travel 20% or more
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of technical team and program management experience
Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy
Experience managing technical teams and solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience mentoring individual contributors
Proven track record of creating and leading high-performance delivery or infrastructure decommissioning teams
Ability to perform complex business case analysis
Experience carrying new design concepts from exploration to deployment
Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management
Experience in building and driving adoption of strategies and solutions
Working knowledge of networking layers within data centers
