Performs radiographic imaging procedures for orthopedic outpatient care, ensuring diagnostic quality images for physician interpretation. Provides patient care and safety during imaging processes while adhering to certification and safety standards. Utilizes knowledge of anatomy, radiographic equipment, and medical terminology in a clinical outpatient environment.
DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: Performs radiographic procedures as requested by physicians. Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from accredited Radiologic Technology Program required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT and New Mexico State licenses required. Basic Life Support (BLS) issued through American Heart Association required, or must obtain within two weeks from date of hire or transfer.
SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of radiographic imaging equipment, anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year experience required which can be substituted with clinical education experience.
