Consolidated Medical Travel
Consolidated Medical Travel is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Folsom, California.
Travelers will work 2 of the 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Xmas and NY). Managers will make the final call on scheduling, but we would include this verbiage on the confirmation. **Holiday time off will be considered, however not GTD**
***PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYS EXAM THROUGH UNA IS REQ ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE. MUST BE COMPLETED W/N 24-48 HRS. IT’S PASS/FAIL AND THEY GET 2 ATTEMPTS (TEST A SHOULD BE ASSIGNED 1st, TEST B SHOULD BE ASSIGNED FOR THE RETAKE). A SCREENSHOT SHOWING THE NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IS REQUIRED. If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for the client

***Need Tele RN to care for patients recent released from the ED that are waiting for a bed***
- # beds: 25 ED beds. 5 Fast track (middle hallway). 2 Triage with separate entrance. # of beds 25 beds Ratios 1:4 or 1:5
Required certifications BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients General medical, strokes
Experience or 'Must have' skills Telemetry experience, NIHSS cert, experience managing drips
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips Mainly heparin, amio, cardizem, GI drugs
Shifts & Scheduling: 12Hr shifts, 7A or 7P - self-scheduling is used; but is not finalized until the manager balances it. Block scheduling is generally not available; but is considered on a case-by-case basis. Schedules are out 4 weeks. OT & extra shifts are available. Travelers can access their schedules from home & make themselves ""available"" for extra shifts & make trades with other staff." Floating Requirements Yes, to inpatient like units.
Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy blue - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, but must be navy.
