Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Care for peds patient between the age of 3 days to 18 years of age.
This would include common childhood illness, including COVID + patients. The nurse will need to have a high knowledge base for pediatric patient at all levels of care. (PICU and Peds) PICU - respiratory, traumas, donations, seizures, and poisoning, anything highly specialized or cardiac sent out, no burns. Peds - trauma, respiratory, RSV, general surgical, birth defects, send out more complex surgicals.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
EPIC, Pyxis
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2 years Peds AND PICU minimum experience required, IV skills a plus. EPIC experience is required. Experience in 400+ bed facility with similar acquity (L2 trauma) required.
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS thru AHA required, PALS required, compact or IN RN license
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
3 - 12 hour shifts per week. OT options may be available.
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
Will float to areas like NICU.
7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
Peds - 28 beds, PICU - 7 beds
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
1:4 patients Peds, 1:2 PICU
9. Dress Code:
Caribbean blue scrubs
10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Orientation will be as any other traveler, then 24 hours on the floor with a preceptor.


Name of Position Requirements
2+ years experience in Peds AND PICU, must have both.
BLS through AHA required
PALS through AHA required
Must work Peds and PICU and float to NICU
