Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray / Diagnostic Imaging)

Location: Carbondale, IL 62901
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Wednesday – Friday | 9:30 AM – 10:00 PM | 3x12-Hour Shifts (36 Hours/Week)

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our imaging team in Carbondale, Illinois. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality diagnostic radiology procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and professionalism.

This role offers a consistent three-day workweek (Wednesday–Friday) schedule, ideal for technologists seeking work-life balance in a fast-paced hospital environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic X-ray procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepare, position, and instruct patients to ensure accurate imaging results and optimal comfort.
  • Adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards to protect patients and staff.
  • Evaluate images for quality and accuracy before submitting to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and technologists to ensure timely workflow and quality patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and report any technical issues promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program Required
  • ARRT Certification (R) Required
  • Active Illinois Radiologic Technologist License (IEMA-DNS) Required
  • BLS Certification (AHA) Required
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent radiology experience Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and exposure techniques
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and patient interaction skills
