Job Description
As a Navy Chaplain, you will provide spiritual support to Sailors and Marines, conducting ceremonies and offering guidance during critical moments. You'll be part of a diverse team that includes over 800 Chaplains from various faiths, ensuring the spiritual and ethical well-being of service members.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct worship services in various settings
Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms
Counsel individuals seeking guidance
Oversee religious education programs
Visit and provide spiritual guidance to hospitalized personnel and their families
Train lay leaders for religious education programs
Promote attendance at religious services and retreats
Advise leaders on morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizen or equivalent
Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited institution
Two years of full-time religious leadership experience
Ability to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense
