Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 33-bed Cardiovascular/Stepdown Unit in Lawton, OK. The RN will provide high-quality patient care to individuals with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with conditions such as STEMI/NSTEMI, CHF, post-cardiothoracic surgery, and those requiring antiarrhythmic IV medications.
• Manage patients on noninvasive ventilation and monitor for peripheral vascular compromise.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 to ensure personalized and effective care delivery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float to Med/Surg or ER units to assist with CVCU/Med Surg holds as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR system (Allscripts).
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families regarding their conditions and care plans.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong clinical knowledge of stepdown and telemetry nursing practices.
• Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and managing telemetry monitoring.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and perform effectively in high-acuity settings.

Requirements

• License: Active RN License in Oklahoma or Compact State
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Stepdown or Telemetry RN experience (at least 6 months required)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred; applicants without may still be considered)
• EMR Experience: Allscripts (preferred)
• Schedule Flexibility: No block scheduling; must be flexible with shifts and holiday coverage
