Job Description

Join CalPortland as a Senior Ready Mix Sales Representative and lead sales activities in the Seattle area. You'll play a critical role in customer care, market trend analysis, and ensuring sales success while enjoying a robust benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed annual business/sales plan for the assigned territory
  • Create effective proposal presentations and RFP responses
  • Understand pricing and proposal models
  • Source and develop customer referrals and relationships
  • Maintain a reputation for sound business acumen
  • Track trends in the economy and their impact on the ready-mix market
  • Compile competitive and industry information
  • Provide mix design submittals
  • Maintain open communication with plant, dispatch, quality and management personnel
  • Assist in implementing company marketing plans
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and prospecting activities
  • Provide timely reports on activities and expenses
  • Adhere to company policies and ethics codes
  • Share expertise with other sales team members
  • Attend industry-related events

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, preferably in the construction materials industry
  • Ability to discuss industry, market and product knowledge
  • Strong formal presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to influence and drive decision-making
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Team player
  • Mid-level skill level with Microsoft Office Software
  • Clean driving record (for last five years)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments, etc.)
  • Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products
  • Familiar with CRM and customer contact databases
  • Familiarity with ERP-SAP
