Job Description
Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant. You will play a vital role in patient care, assisting with various medical procedures, ensuring compliance with health standards, and providing excellent customer service in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens and route them to the correct lab
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures at the front desk
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant program
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate with doctors clearly and concisely
Ability to communicate with patients and co-workers in a professional manner
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
Preferred Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Works well within a team
