As an Outside Plant Technician at Verizon, you'll ensure the efficiency of outside plant facilities while engaging in various responsibilities like cable placement, construction work, and vehicle operation. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining America's fastest and most reliable network.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including cables and poles
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and hardware
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating company motor vehicles to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs
Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as needed
Required Qualifications
Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
