Overview

Wilson Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Radiation Therapist to join its oncology care team. This role is designed for professionals who are detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to delivering safe and effective radiation treatments to patients with cancer and related conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with physician orders.
  • Operate and monitor radiation therapy equipment to ensure accurate delivery of treatment.
  • Assess and document patient responses to therapy, reporting any concerns to the oncology team.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and oncology nurses to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families about radiation therapy procedures, side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support patient comfort and provide compassionate care throughout the treatment process.

Qualifications

  • Current Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain).
  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in operating radiation therapy equipment.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary oncology team.
