Assignment Dates: August 4, 2025 – November 1, 2025
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM | 40 hours/week
Schedule: Monday–Friday; occasional weekends may be required
Job Description:
HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Case Manager for a 13-week travel assignment in Cambridge, Massachusetts . This role involves a blend of utilization review and discharge planning within an inpatient hospital setting. The RN Case Manager will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, apply InterQual criteria, and ensure appropriate patient transitions across the continuum of care.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct utilization review and discharge planning for inpatient admissions.
Apply InterQual Inpatient criteria to determine care appropriateness.
Communicate with attending and house staff to recommend care alternatives.
Assess and determine appropriate levels of care using clinical expertise.
Coordinate discharge planning with nursing and social work teams.
Report non-acute care days to the physician reviewer.
Collaborate with patients and families for post-hospital care planning.
Manage observation status patients to ensure proper utilization.
Participate in Saturday, holiday, and beeper rotation as needed.
Ensure compliance with insurance, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Follow MACIPA Case Management standards and guidelines.
Requirements:
Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of medical/surgical RN experience
At least 2 years of case management or utilization review experience
Epic experience preferred
Strong verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in basic computer use and documentation
Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Contract Details:
Full-time | 40 hours/week | Day shifts
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Occasional weekend coverage may be required
