-  Trade or Technical School certificate/diploma in Surgical Technology. 
 -  Certification  : National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). 
 -  Experience  : Minimum 2 year of operating room experience preferred. 
 -  Orthopedic experience required  , including total joints and sports medicine.

 Job Summary: 
 The Surgical Technologist supports the surgical team under the direct supervision of the surgeon to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operative procedures. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, managing surgical instruments and equipment, and maintaining strict adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols. 
 Key Responsibilities: 
-  Prepare and verify surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment. 
 -  Scrub, gown, and glove self, surgeon, and assistants. 
 -  Perform instrument and sponge counts with the circulator. 
 -  Assist in draping and maintaining the sterile field. 
 -  Pass instruments and supplies during surgery. 
 -  Ensure safe and effective functioning of all surgical equipment. 
 -  Assist with post-procedure cleanup, instrument sterilization, and room turnover. 
 -  Participate in orienting and mentoring new staff and students.
