Key Responsibilities

  • Performs nuclear medicine exams, prepares patients for exams, and explains procedures
  • Prepares and administers radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies
  • Ensures the technical quality of images and collects, prepares, and analyzes biological specimens
  • Enters and monitors patient data and performs quality assurance on imaging equipment
  • Identifies and reports accidents or equipment malfunctions
  • Takes emergency calls within the department
  • Adheres to policies and standards for safe patient care
  • Supports professional growth and development of staff

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
  • Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) if performing diagnostic CT
