Key Responsibilities
Performs nuclear medicine exams, prepares patients for exams, and explains procedures
Prepares and administers radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies
Ensures the technical quality of images and collects, prepares, and analyzes biological specimens
Enters and monitors patient data and performs quality assurance on imaging equipment
Identifies and reports accidents or equipment malfunctions
Takes emergency calls within the department
Adheres to policies and standards for safe patient care
Supports professional growth and development of staff
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology
Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) if performing diagnostic CT
