Lead Front-end Software Engineer [Javascript]

FULLY REMOTE ROLE - $110k-125k Oomph is an award-winning digital experience agency. We help complex organizations design, build, and run mission-critical digital products and platforms. We are looking for a Lead Front-end Developer who will own and elevate the frontend discipline at our agency. Youll work closely with customers, designers, and engineers to lead frontend projects, define development standards, and drive architectural decisions. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our frontend engineering practice while mentoring other developers and representing our company in the wider tech community. Lead frontend architecture and implementation across multiple projects Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and accessibility Define and evolve our frontend stack and best practices Collaborate with designers, project managers, and backend developers to deliver polished, high-performing web applications Represent the company at conferences, webinars, and community events Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and advocate for their adoption when appropriate 5+ years of experience in frontend web development ~ Deep expertise in JavaScript, React, and React-based frameworks like GatsbyJS, Next.js, or Astro ~ Strong understanding of static site generation, server-side rendering, and modern frontend architecture ~ Experience deploying and optimizing web applications on Vercel, Netlify, or similar platforms ~ Experience defining frontend standards, code reviews, and fostering best practices ~ GitHub, blog posts, conference talks) that demonstrates technical leadership Experience with headless CMS platforms like Drupal, Sanity, or Contentful Understanding of accessibility (WCAG), SEO, and performance best practices Previous experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects This position is fully remote from anywhere in the United States ~ Opportunity to lead and grow the frontend engineering practice ~ 20 days of paid time off per year, plus 8 paid holidays, and your birthday ~ Company laptop, WFH set up allowance, and a $2k annual WFH stipend ~ Medical, dental, vision, short & long-term disability, and life insurance coverage ~Drupal and OSS community contributors Oomph is an award-winning digital experience agency.
