Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in providing quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring animal well-being and enhancing client experiences while supporting the professional development of your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide preventive and basic care to patients in underserved areas
  • Triage and refer cases that do not fall within Community Medicine parameters

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
