Estimated Weekly Salary

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1440 - $1550 per week

Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville area)
• Healthcare Setting: Main Hospital – Medical-Surgical and Ortho/Spine Units
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 54 beds, including 11 ortho/spine beds
• Flexible Scheduling: At least one weekend per 4-week period; blocked scheduling considered

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
• Excellent punctuality, organization, and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical, orthopedic, spine, trauma, and psych medical hold patients
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Operate advanced clinical equipment: Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, specialty beds, and more
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EHR
• Collaborate with RN/LPN teams, patient care techs (PCTs), and externs to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float within the Med/Surg unit as needed
• Participate in general Med/Surg procedures: post-catheterizations, thoracentesis/paracentesis, spine and joint care, dialysis, and more
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
