Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate an estimate of charges upon request for hospital inpatient only
  • Review demographics and insurance information with the patient
  • Collect patient's payment and enter it into the system
  • Answer financial assistance calls
  • Utilize work queues daily
  • Communicate effectively with the team and report collections
  • Provide financial assistance information and counseling
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in a hospital or physician office setting
  • 2+ years of experience working with hospital billing and insurance
  • 2+ years of EMR (Epic) experience
  • Ability to work normal business hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of healthcare collections experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department or medical setting
  • Experience in insurance reimbursement and financial verification
  • Experience in requesting and processing financial payments
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of insurance policies and procedures
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics for financial payments
