Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Kankakee, IL 60901
• Healthcare Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (5:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Orientation: One 12-hour shift
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,910 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (Stepdown or ICU nursing experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with EPIC EMR system
• Valid driver’s license required for submission
• Strong teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude
• First-time travel nurses welcome to apply!

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac and post-surgical patients in a 22-bed IMCU
• Monitor and titrate cardiac drips, including Cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, insulin, heparin, dopamine, and dobutamine
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula equipment as needed
• Interpret telemetry and coordinate with centralized tele tech support
• Float to ICU (PCU-level patients) or Medical-Surgical units as required
• Document all patient care using Epic EMR
• Comply with all unit and hospital policies, including wearing Caribbean-colored scrubs
