Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Care for the health, wellbeing, and age-appropriate education of children
  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum using Vermont Early Childhood Learning Standards
  • Maintain health and safety of the facility
  • Supervise Teacher Assistants and Classroom Aides
  • Communicate concerns and milestones to parents/guardians
  • Complete behavioral and cognitive assessments for children
  • Organize parent-teacher conferences
  • Complete 24 hours of approved professional development annually
  • Adhere to state licensing requirements and regulations
  • Report any suspected abuse or neglect

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 college credits in Early Education or a qualifying Associate's Degree
  • Must meet Vermont standards for Teacher Associate position
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare center or as an Early Elementary Educator
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • First Aid & CPR Certified

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
