**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shifts**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The RN is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. As an RN, you will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and new staff, promoting a safe and supportive environment for both patients and team members.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Patient Assessment:** Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, gathering critical data for individualized care planning.
- **Plan of Care:** Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and establish goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
- **Documentation:** Ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- **Patient Care:** Provide direct patient care using the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with a focus on patient education.
- **Discharge Planning:** Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- **Communication:** Effectively communicate changes in patient status to other care providers to support continuity of care.
- **Supervision and Training:** Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving and prioritization skills.
- **Safety Focus:** Promote personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
- **Team Contribution:** Foster a positive work environment by contributing to team-building activities and providing calm direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
- **Resource Management:** Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, ensuring the effective use of resources and cost-effective care.
- **Professional Development:** Pursue continuous professional growth through education and self-study; takes initiative in identifying personal development needs.
- **Additional Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in meeting unit needs.
**Qualifications:**
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required prior to first shift.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required prior to first shift (specific to some units).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
- ICU experience preferred.
