Job Description
Join Optum as a Senior Patient Care Coordinator, where you'll be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive the quality care they need. Key Responsibilities
Communicates directly with patients and/or families to complete the registration process
Collects patient demographics, health information, collects co-payments, and verifies insurance eligibility/benefits
Utilizes computer systems to enter, access or verify patient data in real-time
Generates, reviews and analyzes patient data reports and follows up on issues and inconsistencies
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare environment
Intermediate level of understanding of insurance policies and procedures
Ability to work onsite at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center
Ability to work any 10-hour shifts from 7:00am - 5:30PM Thursday - Saturday
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of registration experience in a hospital or medical setting
1+ years of experience working in an Emergency Department setting
Understanding of medical terminology
Working knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and patient care settings
