Shift: 12-hour shifts; day and night shifts available

Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week

Position Overview:

White Plains Hospital is seeking experienced Labor & Delivery RNs for a 13-week travel assignment. Nurses in this unit manage all aspects of obstetric care, including triage, labor support, delivery, and post-operative recovery for C-section patients. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment that requires strong clinical and critical thinking skills.

Unit Details:

  Beds: 14 total (5 triage/inpatient, 6 labor beds, 2 OR beds)

• 
  

  Charting Systems: Meditech and GE (dual charting)

• 
  

  Ratio: Per AWONN standards

• 
  

  Orientation: 2–3 shifts

Weekend & Holiday Requirements:

• 
  

  Days: Every 3rd weekend

• 
  

  Nights: Friday and Saturday every weekend in rotation

• 
  

  Holidays: Travelers do not work holidays

Floating:

May assist in OB or nursery areas with tasks but will not take full patient assignments.

Requirements:

• 
  

  Licensure: Active NY RN license (license to submit)

• 
  

  Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP required; RN-C preferred

• 
  

  Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience, including high-risk obstetrics and C-sections (nurses are expected to scrub)

• 
  

  Education: BSN required

• 
  

  Charting Experience: EPIC experience preferred

Common Diagnoses / Patient Types:

• 
  

  High-risk OB patients

• 
  

  C-section patients (performed on unit; nurses scrub cases)

• 
  

  Magnesium sulfate patients (managed in L&D)

• 
  

  Low-risk antepartum patients (managed in OB side)
