The Ready-Mix Sales Representative at CalPortland will manage sales activities in their territory, focusing on customer care and market trends. The role demands strong relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Understand pricing and quoting models
Develop and maintain a list of target and development customers
Meet or exceed new and retention sales volume goals
Track current trends in the national and local economy
Compile detailed competitive and industry information
Assist customers with required mix design submittals
Maintain communication regarding customer requirements
Assist in the implementation of marketing plans
Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities
Provide timely reports on activity and expenses
Assist Credit Department with collections
Adhere to company policies and procedures
Attend industry-related events
Share expertise with other sales team members
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years sales experience, preferably in the construction materials industry
Ability to discuss industry, market and product knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to influence and drive decision-making
Strong analytical skills
Team-player
Mid-level skill level with Microsoft Office Software
Clean driving record (for last five years)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Public Entities (state, county, city governments)
Background in construction and/or manufacturing of construction products
Familiar with CRM and customer contact databases
Familiarity with ERP - SAP
