Position Overview
Our client, a leading food supplier, is seeking a Quality Supervisor - Food to oversee quality assurance and food safety practices in a manufacturing setting. This role ensures products meet all company and regulatory standards for quality, safety, and consistency. Responsibilities
- Monitor and enhance manufacturing processes to meet quality standards
- Investigate quality issues and customer complaints using root cause analysis; develop corrective actions
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., HACCP, SOPs)
- Collaborate with production, supply chain, and support teams on quality goals and KPIs
- Supervise the release of finished goods, including rework, product disposition, and inventory adjustments
- Train staff on quality procedures; support staff development through coaching and feedback
- Analyze quality data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage sensory evaluations of finished products, ensuring consistency and standards
- Select and train sensory panelists; maintain evaluation tools and standards
- Communicate findings to leadership and collaborate for continuous quality improvement
- Cross-reference sensory data with customer feedback to identify quality trends
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
- 3+ years experience in food safety, quality assurance, or plant sanitation in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and industry best practices
- Proficiency in quality analysis, data interpretation, and basic statistics
- Experience leading teams, audits, and cross-functional projects
- Detail-oriented with multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
