Job Description

Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Medical Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in patient care by assisting with medical procedures, ensuring compliance with health standards, and supporting both patients and healthcare providers in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
  • Clean and straighten exam room between patients
  • Prepare syringes and administer injections
  • Assist provider with injectable procedures
  • Prepare pathology and lab specimens
  • Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
  • Schedule or re-schedule appointments
  • Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
  • Maintain medication samples and records
  • Train other employees on medical assistant duties
  • Assist with check-in or check-out procedures

Required Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with doctors and patients
  • Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
