Job Description

Join Optum as a Health Information Management Associate to improve health outcomes while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. You'll handle vital documentation, assist in case management, and contribute to the overall health of the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scans and files documents into patient charts
  • Conducts rounds at the facility to collect discharge documentation
  • Responsible for the release of information as needed
  • Destruction of records
  • Utilizes Cerner and EBRS system to enter data for birth certificates
  • Provides face-to-face customer service at the facility
  • Knowledge of State requirements/rules for Birth Certificates
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical office or medical records position
  • Experience with computers and Windows-based programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to type and talk at the same time and navigate through multiple screens
  • Access to reliable transportation and a Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (Domestic)
  • Reside within a commutable distance to Vacaville, CA or Fairfield, CA
  • Ability to work any of the 8-hour shift schedules during normal business hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM PST from Tuesday - Saturday

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related work experience including data entry
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Experience with EMR computer applications
  • Cerner experience
