Position: RN – MedSurg Tele (6W Neuro/Stroke focus)
Location: Chesapeake, VA (Coastal Virginia, near Virginia Beach & Norfolk)
Shift: Nights – 4x12s (19:00–07:30) OR 3x12s (OT after 48 hrs)
Duration: 13 weeks
Contract Type: Travel RN
Unit: 6W – MedSurg/Tele/Neuro/Stroke
Patient Ratio: 1:7 (days, nights, weekends) – must be comfortable with this
Beds: 30
Daily Census: 28

• Experience: 2 years RN, travel experience required
• Neuro/Stroke experience required (acute care)
• EPIC proficiency required – no exceptions
• Must pass EKG rhythm interpretation test (10 strips, 80% to pass, 1 attempt only)
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and float as needed
• No license/background hits accepted
• Compact or VA RN license

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

• IV Start & Management
• Telemetry interpretation & dysrhythmia management
• Central/PICC line care & blood draws
• Blood product administration
• Stroke/CVA care, TBI, pre/post neurosurgery
• Tracheostomy & ventilatory support (CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, O2 therapy)
• Heparin, insulin, PCA, feeding tube management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Wound care & wound vac
• Rapid Response participation
