School Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Care Options for Kids summary:

The School Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supports Occupational Therapists and school staff by implementing individualized therapy plans focused on enhancing students' physical, cognitive, and emotional development. This role involves delivering therapeutic interventions to improve students' participation in daily school activities, primarily within pediatric and school-based settings. The position requires relevant licensure, certification, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a school environment.

School-Based Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA):

  • $35-$45/Hour

Position Summary:

As a school-based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with Occupational Therapists and school staff to implement individualized therapy plans for students. You will assist in providing therapeutic interventions that enhance students' physical, cognitive, and emotional development, focusing on improving their ability to participate in daily school activities.

Education/License/Certification:

  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
  • NBCOT Certification for Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of WA (required upon start date)

Experience/Requirements:

  • Pediatric focus and/or School-Based experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
  • Knowledge of therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
  • Excellent communication – verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsive to requests.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance.
