Job Description

Join Raytheon as a Mechanical Analysis Section Leader in Tucson, AZ, where you will lead a team of engineers and ensure the quality of technical output throughout the product life cycle. This role combines management with hands-on technical involvement, making a significant impact on critical military programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 15-20 engineers
  • Provide technical development, mentoring, and performance management
  • Ensure accuracy of technical output
  • Coordinate program staffing needs and resource utilization
  • Perform individual contributor workload in subject matter discipline
  • Evaluate and resolve materials and processes problems
  • Support product life cycle with technical oversight

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with materials and process design, development, and/or production support for military programs
  • Experience in cross-functional team collaboration
  • Experience in testing methods for physical properties of materials
  • Experience with PWB/CCA interconnects analysis
  • Experience in failure analysis of mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in dimensional inspection/measurement techniques

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience in materials problem solving and design selection
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplined scientific projects
  • Direct experience in aerospace industry materials support
  • Advanced degree in related disciplines
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of data analysis and computational techniques
  • Strong communication and planning skills
  • Ability to write concise technical reports
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo, and/or Python
  • Proficiency in MS Office
