Performs mammography procedures on scheduled shifts, operates mammography equipment.
Proficient or willing to be trained in performing bone density procedures.
Performs x-ray procedures and other imaging procedures as qualified.
Oversight of all MQSA and ACR standards for the Mammography Department including all daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic QC functions.
Complies with all quality assurance procedures in accordance with FDA, MQSA program.
Responsible for maintaining necessary data for annual Mammography Department inspections and will participate in annual Mammography department inspections.
Coordinates patient experience regarding exam scheduling, patient call-backs, and additional follow-up needs.
Works rotational shifts with other technologists and provides general diagnostic and computed tomography procedures on call as needed. This includes arriving at the hospital within 20 minutes of being called.
Instructs, supervises, and evaluates student technologists.
Capable of assisting and transporting patients as necessary for patient care.
Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments.
Presents a positive image to community and professional contacts.
Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model.
Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.
Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any malfunctions to manager/Bio-med.
Manages and coordinates the activities of the Mammography Department with other areas of the department and hospital to insure and maintain patient care.
Demonstrates proper phone etiquette and utilization of computers, including completion of exam data entry.
Complies with OSHA/DIA and other regulatory agency recommendations and guidelines.
Capable of performing office/clerical work and transporting patients as necessary for patient care.
Schedules patients.
Attends hospital and department meetings and in-services.
Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient/personnel information.
Other duties as assigned by management.
