Job Description
Join Raytheon as a Senior Systems Safety Engineer in Tucson, AZ, and lead critical safety programs to ensure the reliability and safety of defense systems. Collaborate with diverse teams and contribute to projects that safeguard our nation and allies.
Key Responsibilities
Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses
Coordinating with customer safety representatives
Working across integrated product teams to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls
Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities
Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses
Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews
Preparing internal and customer reports
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
Minimum 5 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience
Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and project management skills
Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
