Job Summary
Client is seeking an experienced Breast Ultrasound Technologist to join the Imaging Department. The technologist will perform high-quality breast sonography procedures and work collaboratively with radiologists, technologists, and nursing staff to support accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient care. This role is ideal for a skilled professional looking for a short-term contract opportunity in a supportive healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic breast ultrasound examinations, including targeted scans and biopsies, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate interpretation.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and address any concerns to promote comfort and compliance.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to review images, discuss findings, and contribute to patient care plans.
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records and maintain detailed logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment calibration and protocol adherence, to uphold departmental standards.
- Assist in training junior staff or students as needed, fostering a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in breast imaging, with proficiency in breast ultrasound techniques.
- Active New Jersey state licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (or equivalent certification).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in ultrasound software and imaging systems; familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is a plus.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, ethical practices, and continuous professional development.

- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and market standards. Travel and housing stipends may be available for eligible candidates.
