Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you will lead a team dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You will support and mentor fellow veterinarians while ensuring optimal patient care and a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the clinic
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture
  • Perform high-quality spay/neuter surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate veterinary care to patients
  • Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
  • Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification (required within 60 days of hire)
