Key Responsibilities

  • Manage food cost, food waste, staffing, HACCP, production, pars, orders, and cleanliness
  • Supervise and partner with the Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Ensure proper staffing and training of kitchen staff
  • Follow and maintain Chuy's procedures and recipes
  • Oversee inventory and orders
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is functioning properly
  • Maintain cleaning standards and verify compliance
  • Create schedules for kitchen staff

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant
  • Strong culinary knowledge and love of food
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Financial understanding of sales, costs of sales and labor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Familiarity with a variety of kitchen equipment and its maintenance
  • Willingness to run occasional front of house shifts
