Job Description
Join a dynamic team at APL as an RF Metasurface Researcher, where you'll design and prototype innovative metasurfaces for RF applications. Collaborate with experts in electromagnetic technologies to advance research from modeling to real-world applications, making impactful contributions in a supportive and creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, prototype, and fabricate novel metasurfaces and intelligent structures
Perform anechoic chamber measurements and devise RF testbeds
Analyze data and propose design refinements
Advance independent research ideas and collaborate with team members
Required Qualifications
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields
Strong background in electromagnetic metasurfaces and microwave/RF components and circuits
Proficiency in a full-wave electromagnetic simulation package such as CST, HFSS, or COMSOL
Experience configuring and operating RF hardware equipment
Interest in RF metasurfaces fabrication procedures
Programming skills in MATLAB or PYTHON
Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in printed circuit board layout and fabrication
Interest in building systems with RF components
Experience in designing reconfigurable intelligent surfaces
Exposure to RF applications like communications, radar, and microwave imaging
