The Equipment Operator holds a union position and is responsible for operating various equipment used in road, site, and highway construction. Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site, or highway construction operations including Pavers, Shuttle Buggy’s, Rollers, Graders, Rubber Tire Excavators, and other various equipment as needed. Wear all required personal protective equipment. Report problems to the attention of the Construction Manager. Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor, clean equipment. Two years of experience in operating heavy equipment, preferred. Proficient verbal and written English Legal right to work in the U.Travel: Position may require up to 100% travel by personal vehicle to project locations throughout the state of New York and New England based on the needs of the business. This position works indoors and outdoors at times in inclement weather. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment.
