Key Responsibilities
Perform nursing duties within the scope of a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse
Participate in implementing established education plans for patients and their families
Coordinate patient care as directed by providers and RNs
Document chief complaint and room patients according to policy
Collect data and perform focused nursing assessments
Ensure patient confidentiality and treat patients with respect
Organize exam and treatment rooms, stock and clean rooms
Practice standard infection control precautions
Fulfill medication refill requests following approved protocols
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Current and unrestricted State Vocational/Practical Nursing license
Current BLS certification
IV certification if required by the clinic
Proven knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures
Demonstrated proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records
Demonstrated ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Demonstrated ability to perform medical procedures, give injections and perform phlebotomy
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers/staff, patients, and the community
Proven effective listening and communication skills; proper use of grammar and spelling
Proven good communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
IV certification
2+ years of experience in a medical setting
Proven knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
