Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and lead a dedicated team delivering expert veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll support veterinarians in providing high-quality services while ensuring animal well-being and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and medical protocols
  • Support a positive work culture and foster teamwork
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
  • Schedule CM staff veterinarians for optimal coverage

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Excellent work attendance record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience strongly preferred
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
