Location: 700 E University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50316
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift time: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Shift hours: Nights (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) (40 hrs/week)
Guaranteed hours: 40
 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and adolescent behavioral health patients.
  • Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to manage patient care plans.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • May float internally across different psychiatric units as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR system.

Shift Details

  • Night shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Work 36-40 hours per week (billable overtime after 40 hours; 48 hours max with overtime after 48)
  • Weekend and holiday rotation: Every other or every 3rd weekend, including holidays
  • No on-call requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 completed travel nursing contract.
  • Experience in pediatric/adolescent behavioral health or psychiatric nursing required.
  • Current Iowa RN license (Compact licenses allowed).
  • BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • MOAB or equivalent de-escalation certification (can be obtained during onboarding).
