DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Primary Care / Charge Nurse

Job Type: 13 weeks

Location: Winnebago, NE 68071

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to core mission, vision, and values.
• Function as the primary care nurse and assume charge nurse duties to support optimal patient care.
• Complete comprehensive admission assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide interventions as ordered by physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants.
• Evaluate patient response to treatment and promptly notify providers of changes in condition.
• Obtain and process specimen collections accurately.
• Initiate consults with appropriate disciplines based on assessment findings.
• Assist with discharge planning to ensure smooth care transitions.
• Administer disease-preventable vaccines prior to discharge.
• Provide discharge instructions, patient education, and follow-up appointment coordination.
• Demonstrate flexibility to float to areas of need (Outpatient, Emergency Room) and assist with Emergency Response Preparedness.
• Exercise sound judgment and decision-making in matters of significance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska or multi-state licensure under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
