The Senior Director of Behavior at ARC & CARE will lead efforts in animal behavior care, overseeing a dedicated team while ensuring the welfare of animals in collaboration with various departments. This role involves high-quality, low-stress care, research leadership, and fostering relationships to advance animal welfare practices.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Manage and coach a team of behavior experts
Lead research projects and share knowledge
Foster collaboration across departments to improve animal welfare
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Comfort with humane euthanasia decisions and procedures
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing/overseeing research projects
Interest in writing scientific publications
