Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team in delivering high-quality care to underserved communities. You'll support and train veterinarians, perform vital surgeries, and ensure a compassionate environment for both animals and clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques
  • Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgical procedures
  • Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
  • Triage and refer cases outside Community Medicine parameters
  • Participate in monthly Veterinary Medicine Rounds and meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
