Job Description

Join Optum as a Senior Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant and play a crucial role in improving health outcomes by supporting patients and healthcare teams. You will provide outstanding customer service and handle essential administrative tasks to ensure a seamless experience for patients in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide front and back-office support
  • Answer phone calls from multiple queues
  • Review and process prior authorization requests
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Intake and update demographic information for patients
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments
  • Resolve customer service inquiries
  • Prepare exam rooms and document patient encounters in Epic
  • Handle incoming referrals and communications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 3+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of medical front office or surgery scheduling experience
  • 1+ years of basic computer software experience
  • 1+ years experience as an MA-R or an MA-C

Preferred Qualifications

  • Surgery scheduling experience
  • EPIC experience
  • Prior authorization experience
