Position Summary: Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will support occupational therapy services in a dynamic rehabilitation environment, assisting patients in regaining functional independence following injury, surgery, or illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized treatment programs developed by supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, self-care strategies, and mobility training
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to the OT and clinical team
  • Document daily treatment notes and adhere to facility and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in care team meetings and contribute to patient discharge planning
  • Maintain treatment areas and equipment in safe and functional condition
  • Educate patients and caregivers on continued therapy strategies and home programs

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current California COTA license or eligibility
  • Active BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred, ideally in a rehab or hospital setting
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong clinical judgment and time management abilities
