Strategic Talent Partners has been retained by our client, a custom rotational molding manufacturer, to hire a Director of Sales. They develop innovative products for fishing, hunting, marine recreation and power sports, and known for an uncompromising commitment to quality, durability and ingenuity.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales will focus on leading sales and marketing efforts for 3 key brands, while occasionally assisting with matters involving others in the portfolio.
This role requires an effective leader and player who is able to develop high-performance teams and work effectively to support the needs of individual business units within the company. The ideal candidate will be action-, deadline- and accountability-oriented, focused on attention to detail and accuracy, and have excellent interpersonal skills able to interact with diverse personality types. They will be encouraged to look for ways in which they can serve as a change agent to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys the outdoors to blend their professional experience and personal passions. This is a M-F in-office position based in Maple Lake, MN.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Marketing Strategy
Develop and execute an annual sales and marketing plan with clear objectives, KPIs, and accountability measures for each team member.
Oversee sales and marketing campaigns, including product launches, sales tools, training, presentations, and competitive positioning to drive revenue growth.
Lead, manage, and develop sales and marketing team members; oversee hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development plans.
Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture with a focus on continuous improvement and individual growth.
Process Improvement & Execution
Design and implement systems and processes to improve team efficiency, data accuracy, and sales/marketing effectiveness.
Monitor and evaluate team performance, adjusting strategies to meet goals and ensure quality and consistency across functions.
Analyze customer behavior, sales data, and market trends to inform strategy and improve acquisition and conversion.
Research and respond to customer needs, ensuring effective resolution of issues and communication with sales leadership.
Campaign Analysis & Reporting
Evaluate marketing initiatives for ROI and performance; conduct and present actionable insights to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Translate data and analysis into clear recommendations that drive informed business decisions.
Skills and Experience:
10+ years of relevant work experience in sales operations, business planning, marketing, or sales support/marketing support management roles.
BS or BA degree in Marketing, Sales or a related field.
Skilled at developing and executing business plans, setting KPIs, and aligning cross-functional teams around clear goals and outcomes
Committed to coaching, mentoring, and developing talent; fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, evaluate marketing ROI, and provide actionable insights that improve performance and conversion.
Adept at understanding customer needs, gathering feedback, and using insights to refine sales strategies.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; capable of building trust with diverse teams and influencing executive-level stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and digital marketing platforms.
Highly accountable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Our client offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Target base salary is $165,000-190,000 plus annual bonus. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.
