The Medical Director for National Accounts at Blue Shield of California drives strategic initiatives to enhance market share and manage healthcare costs. This role involves providing clinical direction, collaborating on client solutions, and leading the development of health programs to improve population health and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead client-facing activities and meetings with brokers and consultants
Interpret clinical data and review cost/spending trends
Act as a strategic thought-partner for key clients
Plan, develop, and deliver Healthcare Solutions materials
Support ASO Line of Business activities such as business planning and development
Required Qualifications
Medical Degree (M.D./D.O.)
Completed residency preferably in adult based primary care specialty (e.g. internal medicine, family practice)
Active, unrestricted California State Medical License
Minimum 10 years managed care experience
At least five years clinical experience
Experience with California managed care marketplace
Previous experience in national, complex account management support
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Administrative Services Only (ASO) lines of business
