🔹 Required Skills & Certifications
- 🟢 BLS certification – Required prior to first shift
- 🟢 ACLS certification – Required prior to first shift (CIRH only)
- 🟢 Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience – Required
🔹 Core Responsibilities
- Provide and maintain high-quality, individualized patient care according to the nursing care plan
- Supervise and delegate to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees appropriately
- Perform and document full nursing assessment within 8 hours of admission
- Use assessment data to create patient-specific care and education plans
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to set care goals
- Participate in initial and weekly team conferences with timely patient updates
- Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Support rehabilitation-focused care through use of the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate)
- Initiate discharge planning and patient/family teaching from day of admission
- Communicate status changes effectively to charge nurses and physicians
- Seek senior nursing support for complex clinical decisions
- Identify and report patient or environmental safety hazards promptly

- Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and adherence to facility policies
- Lead calmly and confidently during shift to support staff, families, and patients
- Participate in unit-based team-building to enhance morale and efficiency
- Communicate supply, equipment, and training needs to management
- Provide safe, cost-effective care that promotes positive patient outcomes
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation when required
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts
